VISION B AND DAN TITTERTON DRESSAGE AT THE BADMINTON MMCUP19

VISION B AND DAN TITTERTON DRESSAGE AT THE BADMINTON MMCUP19

Article sponsored by Le Jabot and Stock Company

With the first dressage of the day for Dan Titterton completed on Larriston Red Bailey (Bailey) we caught up with him to find out how it went  with his second ride Vision B  (Billy) who is a dressage horse turned eventer! We also want to hear how the course walk with Yogi Briesner went for the MMCUP19 BE90 cross country course

Talk us through your dressage test on Billy

As we thought, Billy was excited in the dressage warm up but he went pretty well. I was a little disappointed with the dressage for his standard, we still got a 28 which is pretty respectable. I think he lies in 6th. It was pretty solid and I am fairly pleased.

This is Billy’s first time here at the Badminton MMCUP has he coped with the atmosphere here so far?

Coped would be an interesting way of putting it! He is dealing with it in his own way!

You have now walked the cross country course with Yogi Briesner did you find he said anything different to your first thoughts on your own course walk?

Not so much. He sort of backed up what I was thinking, especially with the fences 13 and 14. I will stick to the route I have  planned originally. Though his knowledge is second to none so it is really useful.

Is there any particular questions on the cross country course which may pose more of a question for Billy?

Yes, I would imagine the water will be an issue. If he has got one weakness it is water. It goes right back to when we very first took him cross country schooling where we spent two and half hours trying to get him in water. We are always wondering whether  he will go through it or not. The water here is huge with a back drop of all the trade stands and marquees so he might take his eye off the ball there and we just have to try and pursuade him to do it!

I am right in thinking the dressage is Billy’s strongest phase ?

It probably isn’t to be honest. It is just that he has only ever done dressage. He is actually showjumping bred, he is by a grade A and out of a grade A mare but he didn’t grow which is why he my wife Jo had him for dressage. He is actually a fantastic jumper by far the best jumper I have sat on. So he is strong in all three phases.

We will catch up with Team Titterton tomorrow after the showjumping and cross country on each horse and find out how you got on. We wish you the very best of luck for the rest of the event
